A candlelight vigil in honor of Dorian Tursic, the Kent-Meridian High School student who died early Sunday morning in a car crash, is planned for 6 p.m. Wednesday at French Field on the grounds of kent-Meridian High School. In addition, the flagpole in front of the school has been designated as a memorial spot where those who knew Tursic may place flowers and other items.

Veterans memorial now boasts a taller flagpole (The Shreveport Times)

Recent tragedy led to a patriotic Veterans Day tribute as a 50-foot flagpole that once stood at the arson-destroyed SPAR building at Princess Park moved to a new home in front of the Caddo-Bossier War Veterans Memorial on Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway in Shreveport. This beautiful flagpole graciously flies a 10×15 Nylon American Flag.
